President Jon "Sonny Boy" Sheid was among the hunters who killed a buck this year.  Also killing bucks were Mike Durand, Dick Green, Fred Waropay, Boozer Baron, Jim Szeliga, AJ, Joe Punk, Ken Sunderland, and guest Joe Leary.    Ryan Rapos killed a coyote, his first, and the second year in a row that a youth hunter has killed one during buck week.  Last year Chris Green also killed on while it was in full stride tumbling it a few times.   Some pictures of deer week have been added to the 2007 image page.   Dennis Edwards scared a few bucks here and there throughout the week.  He will be purchasing some new shirts after being victimized by the Red Valley Slasher during Thursday night's court.  All the pictures can be viewed here.  Thanks for the pictures by Dennis Edwards!


YOUTH DEER HUNTING Hopewell 1/26/07 - Just in hot off the AP and UPI, Brandon (Son of a Nitsch) Nitschmann killed a shingle horn 3 point buck while hunting with his father, Will.  Brandon shot the buck with a 20 gauge slug gun at 50 yards.  The buck ran another 50 yards and died.  And the best part of the story???  Brandon field dressed the buck himself!  If you are vocabulary challanged, that means he gut his first deer.  Now if he could only teach Poppa Nitsch to shoot that slug gun he could practice more field dressing!  Nice shooting buddy!  Make sure you thank your old man for a nice day together!  Just a side comment, CG better start gutting his own deer too!


YOUTH DEER HUNTING Cream Ridge 1/26/07 - While deer hunting this morning with her father, Andy and myself (Bill Lyden), Sam Rapos shot two bucks (albeit button bucks) in the same exact spot her brother, Ryan Rapos, missed a deer and consumed a lot of shells last week.  Since Ryan was sick this past week and missed school he was unable to hunt today and had to attend school.  (That will teach Ryan not to pull that sick crap anymore!)  To recap the event:   While hunting Perlman's property on 526, across from Mark's residence, the deer approached Sam's stand and she shot the first deer as the deer started to run she repositioned herself for a second shot when she slipped on one of several empty shell casings on the ground, left there by Ryan, as she regained her composure she shot the second deer, twice, killing it at her feet.  As Andy was approaching Sam he found the first deer dead in the field.  Needless to say Sam did not buy a bottle of Baily's.  Nice shooting Sammy!  (PS: Sam (aka Samatha) is a girl in case you don't know who it is!)
