Annual Fluke Derby Current Champs Unseated
Once again the current champs were unseated in the Annual Fluke Derby held July 27th. 21 Boats were entered with crews ranging from 3 to 5 men. This year's winner was the boat "NEVER ENOUGH" with Captain Tom Trembula weighing in their 5 largest fluke weighing 27.98 pounds. Second place went to "NEVER HOME" with 25.59 pounds. Third place went to "KEMOSABE" weighing in 21.22 pounds. Largest fluke was entered by "NEVER ENOUGH" and weighed 8.109 pounds. The largest seabass was 2.612 pounds entered by "MAKO III" captained by our own Mike Restuccia. Being no weakfish were entered a ticket was pulled from the hat and "DOWN HILL" captain Joe Punk and his crew came up winners. Committee co-chair Will Fiordland fished with his son Willie (who has a pretty good left hook!) and they are still cleaning green heads out of the boat! A great meal prepared by none other than Vic Scott (aka Bubby) who was last seen leaving with his prize from the "KEMOSABE"! Not only that, but Bubby spent his birthday cooking for us! Nice job by the committee and HAPPY BIRTHDAY VIC!
