Michael "Piney" J. Cannon, Jr.

Michael "Piney" J. Cannon, Jr., age 52, of Toms River, passed away suddenly on July 2, 2016 in Wall Township. He was born in Toms River to Michael and Eleanor Cannon (Thompson) in which he spent his early years. Michael was a graduate of Allentown High School. He worked as a Mason since his graduation and became a part of the Union Local 5. Michael enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He was always known as the "Happy Guy" and took over the room when he walked in. He was a loving son, husband and father who will be deeply missed. Michael is predeceased by his father, Michael J. Cannon Sr. He leaves behind his loving wife Jennifer Cannon (Robinson) of Toms River; his daughter Megan Cannon; step-daughter Ana Jones; his mother Eleanor Cannon; siblings Martin G. Cannon, Dawn H. Henry, Linnea M. Gordon and Eleanor F. Matis; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 11AM for a Memorial Service at the Rose of Sharon Lutheran Church, located at 42 Chesterfield Jacobstown Rd, Wrightstown, NJ 08562. The family kindly requests that those attending please not wear black, as this is a celebration of life well lived. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Michael's memory to the church. All arrangements are under the direction of Tilghman Funeral Home, New Egypt NJ. The Fin, Fur and Feather membership wishes to express our most sincere condolences to the entire Cannon family.  Mike and his stories will be missed by all.
