Werner B."Papa Nitsch" Nitschmann |
Werner Bruno Nitschnmann, Jr., 69, a lifetime Bordentown resident, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 19, 2012. Truly a self-made man, he was born of humble beginnings, growing up on the family farm in Bordentown Twp. After graduating from William MacFarland H.S. in 1960, he chose to start his own family at a young age. Werner worked at the Roebling Steel Mill by day, and attended Drexel University at night, where he graduated with a BS in engineering in 1976. Later in life, Werner was employed by Bordentown Twp. as the Director of Community Development, and he remained a dedicated employee up until the time of his passing. As a young man, he knew little about the great outdoors, but became a member of the Fin Fur Feather Club in Cream Ridge. It would be here where he met his closest lifelong friends and forged unbreakable bonds with his sons. He would retire from the FFF as a respected life member, trustee, and past president. Well done "Papa Nitch." Werner enjoyed Nascar and his corvette. He was a master pinochle strategist, but not as accomplished in the art of poker. Werner enjoyed dining out and socializing, especially a quiet breakfast with a few good friends. He loved his family, his friends, his job and his town. He will be sorely missed. Son of the late Werner Nitschmann, Sr. and Anna Kungl, husband of the late Lottie Violet Nitschmann, he is survived by his two sons and their spouses; Werner III and Cindy Nitschmann; of Bordentown, and Will and Annette Nitschmann; of Cream Ridge; two daughters and their spouses; Dr. Cindy and Dr. Todd Schmoll; of Beach Haven, and Sandra and Dennis Daly; of Hamilton; seven grandchildren, which he adored; Anna; Lizzy; Caitlin; Allison; Brandon; Christopher; and Devin; his sister Kristina Corelli; of Hamilton; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mike and Shirley Mosier; of Langhorne, PA, Sue and Joe Barrett; of N. Carolina, and James and Kathy Raczkowski; of Florida; and many nieces, nephews, and countless dear close friends. Relatives and friends may callfrom 3-7 p.m. on Sunday (April 22) and again from 10 a.m. - noon on Monday (April 23) at the Huber-Moore Funeral Home, 517 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown, (609) 298-0330. Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be held privately for the family. Published in The Trentonian on April 21, 2012 |
