Stephen W. Homa


COLUMBUS--Stephen W. Homa, 76, of Columbus, passed away Friday, July 1, 2005, at the Merwick Center in Princeton

Mr. Homa was born in Trenton where he was a resident until moving to Columbus in 1999.

A 1945 graduate of Trenton High School, he graduated from Bucknell University in 1949 with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. He retired from The Congoleum Corporation as a special projects engineer.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, a former member of the Immaculate Conception Church and a life member of the Fin, Fur & Feather Club of New Jersey in Cream Ridge.

Son of the late Margaret and Stephen Homa, he is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patricia Owens Homa; a son, Arthur Homa of Seattle, Wash.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Lynn Homa of Ossining, N.Y. and Margaret and Chuck Wojtkiewicz of Redondo Beach, Calif.; and a granddaughter, Julianne Homa.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 6, at 1:30 p.m. at Knott’s Colonial Funeral Home, 2946 South Broad Street, Hamilton. Deacon Steven Szmutko will officiate.

The family will receive friends and relatives from noon until services at the funeral home. Interment will be private at St. Stephens Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

The Fin, Fur and Feather membership wishes to express our most sincere condolences to the his wife Patricia and the entire Homa family.

Steve was very active in our organization with hunting, fishing and other social events.  In 1975 and 1976 he was the President of the Fin, Fur and Feather Club.  He mostly fished out of Tuckerton and Steve and gang even won the Fluke contest one year.   Steve also hunted with the gang in Virginia.  He will be missed by everyone in the organization.   Here are some links to pictures of Steve around Fin, Fur and Feather.
