HAMILTON — Antonius "Tony" M. deKonink, 65, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009, at home with his loving family by his side. Born in the Netherlands, he spent most of his life in the Yardville area, most recently moving to Cream Ridge. A graduate of Notre Dame High School, class of 1962, he served in the U.S. Army for two years in Germany. Tony was the long time owner/operator of Take it Easy Tavern in Yardville. Currently, he was employed by All Clean Janitorial Services. He also was an honorary member of the Lyons International Rotary Club of Santiago, Chile. In his spare time he was an avid soccer fan and enjoyed spending time with his family. Son of the late Karel and Margretha deVos deKonink, he is survived by his wife of 40 years, Maria Catalan deKonink; his loving children, Christian, Carla Luyber and her husband John, and Mark deKonink; one sister, Connie Sitko and her husband Joe; four grandchildren, Lily Rose and Christian, Amanda and Anthony Luyber; two nephews, Joseph Sitko and Gilbert Dilts; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the Buklad Yardville Memorial Chapel, 30 Yardville-Allentown Road in Yardville with the clergy of St. Vincent DePaul Church officiating. Calling hours will be from 6 p.m. until the time of service at the memorial chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to St. Vincent DePaul Church, 555 Allentown Road, Yardville, NJ 08620. |
