BORDENTOWN TOWNSHIP - Vi Nitschmann, 63, quietly passed away Saturday after a long, courageous battle with cancer, her adoring family by her side. A Bordentown resident most of her life, she was a homemaker and, later in life, became a licensed practical nurse working at St. Lawrence Rehabilitation Center in Lawrenceville.
True matriarch of the Nitschmann and Mosier families, Vi enjoyed Atlantic City and an occasional "friendly" card game. She enjoyed traveling and Broadway musicals. Although she had several favorite pastimes, her love of time spent with family and friends was unequaled. Daughter of the late John and Lottie Mosier and sister of the late Ron, John, Butch, Walter, Edward and David Mosier, she is survived by her husband of 43 years, Werner Nitschmann Sr. of Bordentown; two sons and their spouses, Werner Jr. and Cindy Nitschmann of Bordentown and William and Annette Nitschmann of Allentown; two daughters and their spouses, Dr. Cindy and Dr. Todd Schmoll of Beach Haven and Sandra and Dennis Daly of Hamilton; seven grandchildren, Anna, Elizabeth, Caitlin, Allison, Devin, Christopher and Brandon; her sister and her spouse Susan and Joe Barrett of North Carolina; her brothers and their spouses, Michael and Shirley Mosier of Langhorne, PA and James and Kathy Raczkowski of Florida; a brother Richard Mosier of Levittown, PA; her sister-in-law Kristina Corelli of Hamilton; her special friends for life Joyce, Nancy, Irene, Sharon, Bonnie, Dee, Mary and Suzanne; and many nieces, nephews and countless dear and close friends. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Huber-Moore Funeral Home, 517 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown. Calling hours will be following the funeral service until 4 p.m. and again 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Vi's memory to either Southern Ocean County Hospital Hospice Program, Route 72 West, Manahawkin, NJ 08050 or to Boy's Town USA Father Flanagan's Boys Home, Boys Town, NE 68010. The Fin, Fur and Feather membership wishes to express our most sincere condolences to the entire Nitschmann family. Mrs. Nitschman was a familiar face at the Fin, Fur and Feather clubhouse at many events, parties or sitting at the card table for a "friendly" game. Mrs. Nitschmann was wife, mother, mother-in-law and sister to 5 club members as well as a grandmother of a fine young man who is active with the club. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Nitschmann family. Vi will be greatly missed by the entire FFF family. |
