Maryland Striper Trip

A contingency of 7 club members, 1 son and 5 friends ventured off for a rock fish (stripers for you yankees) trip. Club members included Joe Punk, Art Krey , John Burick, Jim Szeliga, Jim Virok, Victor Scott, Kirk Everett and Kirk Jr, Mike Durand, and the rest of Joe's friends including Jimmy, Larry, and three others whose names Joe did not provide.  Both boats limited out on stripers and then moved on to weakfish with bluefish adding to the action.

Joe Punk, Art Krey and the JCP&L gangJoe and his crew fished with Captain Mark Galasso aboard "Tuna The Tide" who was gracious enough to arrange another boat so we could all fish together.  Thanks again Mark! Larry caught the largest striper @ 23 inches, Art caught the largest bluefish not to mention a 3 foot ray that he fought for 15 minutes. Art wouldn't let the captain cut the line as he wanted to land it.  Not to mention Art at 82 years young outdrank the rest of his crew!  Sounds like a good time was had by all.

Kirk Jr, John B, Jim S, Victor S, Kirk E, Jim V, and Mike D Captain Danny Harris and Mate Robby aboard "Grab A Crab" had the memorable experience of having Victor, John, Jim, Jim, Kirk, Kirk Jr. and Mikey D.  OK so he will only remember Victor! We had our limit of stripers by 9:45 and Tuna The Tide moved into our spot while we moved on to catching weakfish. Kirk Jr. caught the largest striper, but it was not measured.  The action was quick paced and when Danny said to drop 'em, they were there. We caught about 35 keepers and the action dropped off for the remainder of the afternoon.  Mikey Durand caught the largest weakfish, also not measured. Kirk caught a lizard fish.  Everyone caught bluefish along with the weakfish not to mention some more stripers mixed in. There were even a few double header stripers.

Ask me how good this lunch is bubby Vic made the lunch aboard "Grab A Crab" with all kinds of chips, meats, cheeses, breads, and spreads.  Vic failed to produce his homemade pepper spread that he promised.  Even the captain and mate were disappointed.  Guess Vic forgot to look around his house for it.  Joe prepared the lunch aboard "Tuna The Tide" with the main entree consisting of potato chips and pretzels!  "Nothing for nothing" that could have started mutiny!  Mark took the wrong crew as Vic even fed Danny and Robby!
