Opening day started out Friday evening with a rained out trap shoot and a some poker games ending just before breakfast.  A great breakfast by Jeff, Will, Ron and the gang and out to the lakes for the traditional 8 AM start.  The turnout was light but the fishing was great as the lakes were fairly clear inspite of all the rain.  Jim V and Kirk E caught 15 trout releasing 14 of them to catch later, all but 1 caught in the big lake on the barge.  Lunch was superb with roast venison, turkey and home made clam chowder.  Jon Scheid caught the big trout on the following Friday in the shooting hole while fishing with his daughter.  It was a 24 inch, 7 pound brown trout.  Way to go Jon!  Good thing you fish better than you shoot!  Great job as usual by the fishing committee.

Will Nitschmann and the Special Events committee have done it again. Tonights Superbowl Party was great.  Plenty of great food and drink, card games, door prizes, a few sidebets, a roaring fire inside and out not to mention the one in the kitchen and I think there was a football game too!  Frank Castro cooked up some of his famous sea bass and it was great as usual.  Those botched attempts at 2 points seemed to ruin a few pools not to mention that last interception!  Nice job by Will, and his committee.
